Colin Schleeh

Born in Montreal, Colin Schleeh studied furniture design and construction at the Beruffachsschule Feuerbach in Stuttgart, Germany, where he developed discipline, spatial reasoning, and hay fever. Returning to Canada in 1975, Schleeh also completed a Journeyman Cabinetmakers apprenticeship at N.A.I.T. in Alberta, Canada. In 1980, he opened Cosmic Woodworking in Edmonton, Alberta, building custom furniture, sculpture and the occasional harpsichord. He has always explored pure sculptural forms, recently expanding his materials vocabulary to included plastics, paper, metal, fungi, film stock, and resins.

In 2001, he formed Schleeh Design Inc., bringing his signature style to a global audience. Hermes, Bvlgari, Shreve, Crump and Lowe and many other prominent international retailers have commissioned Schleeh to design products and special events displays. His sculptural pieces are in collections throughout Canada and the U.S., as well as Japan, Germany, Scandinavia, France, Spain, Australia and many other countries.
