Joe Famulari

Joe Famulari has been designing with Austin for over ten years. His "Home Collection" is a combination of traditional and eclectic decorative accessories and lighting with an emphasis on quality elegance. His work reflects his appreciation of traditional, transitional and Asian influenced designs.

Mr. Famulari has been in the Home Furnishings industry since the late 1970’s. Early in his career, he worked closely with European crystal and porcelain manufacturers designing decorative accessories and tabletop objects.

While working in marketing and product development, he established relationships with artisans from several Asian countries; designing a broad range of decorative accessories, accent furniture, wall décor and portable lighting. Joe was one of the first Americans to work with local craftsmen in Saigon just before the American embargo was lifted and trade resumed with Vietnam.

Joe has been nominated three consecutive times for the ARTS Award for Decorative Accessories. Pursuing his entrepreneurial vision, in 1998 Famulari Ltd. was created in San Francisco. His company designs, develops and sources home furnishing products for various home furnishing companies.

Many of Joe’s designs have been featured at prestigious retailers such as Bergdorf Goodmans, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus as well as mail order catalogs including Horchow Collection, Gumps and Geary Beverly Hills. His designs have also accessorized Henredon, Baker and Century Furniture Galleries. Joe has developed Austin’s licensing program with Hearst Castle and Biltmore Estate.
