 | Entire villages work together to farm or collect the natural materials, which are then sun dried and prepared for the crafts-people. Using their hands and some primitive tools, they create these decorative accessories.
The sea grass and banana leaves are woven or crocheted by the village women. The wood is hand carved by the men while the women stain and polish the pieces. Handmade paper is decorated with leaves, seedpods and cedar root to make tissue boxes, frames and journals.
